Cambridgeshire verses Norfolk County Match, 27/3/2019 Hellesdon High School , Norwich.

Cambs has had it first County Match of the 2019 season against a team from Norfolk County.

The match was hosted by the City of Norwich Archers and I am please to say it was a convincing victory for the Cambs team, helped by the fact the Norfolk fielded a number of long bow archers that had to compete with our recurve archers.

However a victory is a victory and we look forward to a return match sometime later in the year.

The round shot was a WA25, a round that most of us do not shot much, so it was interesting .

The Cambridgeshire Team consisted of 5 compound, 6 recurve, and 1 barebow as follows - Steve Haynes, Jack Atkinson, Adam Kentrop, Karl Swepson, Laura Wright, Max Harris, Martin Sullivan, Howard Daly, Anke Hannemann, Sophie Roberts, Florence Levitt and Kimberley Callaghan.

Everybody shot well and enjoyed the match. There were some notable performances and 8 individual medal winners from the 12 team members.

Individual Gold medalists were Laura Wright, Martin Sullivan, Kimberly Callaghan, Florence Levitt and Max Harris.

Individual Silver medallists were Steve Haynes and Anke Hannemann.

Individual Bronze medallist was Sophie Roberts.

As team captain my thanks go out to all who shot ( and the mums and dads who have to be the taxi service :-) to Norwich county for hosting us and to Stephen Dace for arranging the match.
